ResponderEliminarMy country have a lot of sensationalism in newspapers because it shows some pictures too violent and bloody .... .Sensationalism may include reporting about generally insignificant matters and events that don't influence overall society. For me journalists do this just for pure self-interest and do not care about the reputation of others .In Costa Rica Some newspapers that have sensationalized information are: La Teja, El Diario La Extra..... The newspaper La extra and La Teja shows accidents as they occurred with all the violence and blood .For me, the sensational information attracts much attention this makes more people buy these newspapers. For my the persons love this kinds of news because it show the life of the famous people and the images are not nice but it are very attractive
ResponderEliminarWell, in a country like costa Rica we can see a lot of this kind of news everyday not only in this part of the hemisphere , lest see half orient , Africa united estates central America , south America , Europe, Asia , in another words all the planet .
ResponderEliminarIn the case of Costa Rica we have to be honest, the insecurity in that we live today homicides, murders, is incredible.
All those things became in news, and the news sensationalists.
In my country, yes, the news became sensationalist we can see it in TV, newspapers, everywhere.
The news has to be sensationalist because these are the kind of news that makes them do money but in my own opinion shows the real face of the human race.
I think that show that kind of news make more interest in the society because show
Impact images , with titular’s that make to the reader see the news .
Some Costa Rican news is full of sensationalism about topics such the private life of celebrities, corruption in the government, scandals and social events. Not all the news is exaggerated since some tell us about health, education, and tourism, themes that are important to us to read about. Nevertheless, some others are just about who is getting divorce, who is involved in drugs and who is going out with whom. An example is the Costa Rican ex-presidents Calderón and Rodríguez who got involved in a scandal related to corruption of governmental funds. Personally, I don’t read the newspaper but I think that they also publish some news about sensational topics that may affect the public’s opinions and their lives. The reporters publish this kind of news since the public feel attracted by murder, scandals, and other social issues that amuse them. Besides, this kind of news makes the newspapers more popular and interesting to read for some people. These are some of the reasons that make sensationalist news amusing and entertaining, but also unpleasant.
ResponderEliminarWell, maybe because all the people aren’t going to feel the same excited sensation with the same new. For me in this country the journalists exaggerate a lot and they change the real stories. In the newspapers are usually a lot of news in relation to violence in the country that for example is the most common news nowadays, but also talking about international news, sports and other interests, so I think that the newspaper are interesting for everybody.
ResponderEliminarBecause people aren’t going to read things that don’t produce this excited feeling and that the news have something sensational may not to be the original story, is going to give an appeal to the story and the reader produce a deep interest in know more about the new.
Maybe because sometimes is better to know the truth and that doesn’t change anything, but the new sensationalist are interesting, so that people prefer or not the sensationalists news is going to depend to each person.
In my personal opinion, i don’t like the sensationalism. Nowadays the newspapers are too sensationalist. However, people like it. I think maybe in the future the news will become gossips, or it will talk about traffic accidents, deaths, and famous people a lot. But this kind of news are a reality in this time. For example in Costa Rica the newspapers like La Extra said : “ two cars crashed in Desamparados “ ,” a man was killed while another was seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided in Guatuso, Upala “, La Extra doesn’t talk just about deaths, or car accidents, this newspaper talk about sports, for example : ” Saprissa won 2 -0 “ and famous people like :” Ricky Martin is going to visit Costa Rica “ . These arguments aren’t important for our lives but people spend time day after day reading La Extra. Actually, the people aren’t interested in the important news, like the scientific advances in our country, just as Franklin Chan’s plasma rocket ”, or maybe another topics like history or health . The humanity just thinks about what’s happening right now, and not about the future, or past. But the gossips or accidents aren’t limited to newspapers, you can see this on tv, or you can listening on the radio, all around you is sensationalism. But this isn’t new. Have you ever looked the news of channel 7? Have you ever heard the radio when you stayed in a car a man telling you everything about accidents? Or when you arrive at your house, turn on the tv and watch channel 7 and look deaths on the road. Maybe the people would respond:” yes I have”. I fell very bored with it. When I was a child I didn’t see the news but I heard my parents talking about it. The news in my childhood and the actually news are very similar but the one difference is that nowadays the sensationalism is more important for the people.
ResponderEliminarIf sensationalism news in my country and all media that seeks to be heard seeking to be bought by people looking to have an audience looking to sell to earn more money and that they succeed only with attention-grabbing news that matter to us or we may not matter but give us laughter or disgust at a time.
ResponderEliminarIn the media when things do not just talk about as important as the gossip magazines have the latest look what happens and draws attention no matter the damage it does to those who pursue and respect their privacy not to even say lies in order to sell or in newspapers or television news only speak of the dead and bring to the victims killed on the picture and not think about the damage they do to their families or loved ones or just talk about bad things. I think the news has to excite and attract attention, but thinking of others and be positive in helping people.
People if you are interested because they get distracted and get excited because that is the end of the sensationalism stories are not something we teach or learn something useful.

Is little to be sensationalist, but it is exaggerated the sensationalism that exists in the country, especially in a specific newspaper showing gory images that do not respect the grief of the families of the victims.
ResponderEliminarIn the newspapers in this country the sensationalism is used to draw the attention of many people such as Diario Extra that showed the image of the accident of a former player who died in a traffic accident and the victim's family felt more sad to see the picture.
There's nothing wrong with using the sensationalism, it helps to capture the attention of many readers and gives more reelevancia to newspaper articles without passing the limit, always using the respect of society.
The people mostly preferred the sensationalist news because they are the reason to see what's in the newspapers, but to use this resource appropriately means simply to draw attention, that the people realize what is happening in our environment.
Costa Rican news have too much sensationalism about topics that contains violence, accidents and deaths. I think it is exaggerated; the photographs contain too shocking material that is sad and disappointing.
ResponderEliminarThe journalist thinks that sensationalism is interesting and attracts many people, they don't care if the content affects viewers.
Some people enjoy this types of news but not everybody. In my personal opinion I disagree with this kind of news, I would like the content of this news was most interesting topics like science, education and environment;something positive that we can learn.

• I don’t think that the news here in Costa Rica were sensationalist (just a little bit, but not quite). Everyone is trying to draw the attention of people who want to inform, but not always everything they say as much in the news and in the papers are lies, many things are true and much national interest. Such as traffic accidents, which sometimes tell and teach us that we must respect the signs and the rules to prevent something unwanted and also like in the sports the only sport which they speak is football, as if that is only sport in the world. I do not understand but in some things the news are transparent, like the serious things but in not important things they are sensationalist.
ResponderEliminar• The news don’t have to be sensationalist, because that is not right it’s like saying a lie, or tell people something to get their attention no matters if that is not true, like in the news were gossiping.
• It depends of the kind of people we are talking about, not all the people like reed or see lies in the places that are supposed to be were always say the true for the rest of the country where only the important things you need and cover various topics interesting.
Thanks for reading...
I think that costa rica's media has a lot sensationalis news, all kind of news, Tv or newspapers.
ResponderEliminarIn fact, with the death of Dennis Marshall (soccer player), people took a bit of consciousness, and made a campaign not to buy this newspaper (Diario La Extra) but this is still very appealing to the public.People continued buying the newspaper,so the company continue making this kind of pulications, having no awareness of the emotional damage that may have caused.
Media try to get our attention, putting the stories with cruel images and exaggerated titles, but this is only done for the public to have better response and to increase revenue.

1. Yes because the newspaper try to do everything more exciting to read and we sometimes fall into believing that a violence and the extraordinary events that happen around the world make the day to day more interesting so ourselves do things look bigger than they are.
ResponderEliminar2. Because the people want to know more and more about differents news, extraordinary news not boring and normal things, so the newspapers need to be sensationalists to call the public attention.
3. It depends because some people don`t care about the pain of others and see pictures that are really strong to other people that don`t want to see or read things like that.

I think that in Costa Rica, news are sensationalist because they always exaggerate about the real things that happen to catch the attention of the audience like the newspapers, for example, La Extra is a newspaper that shows strong and striking images of accidents or crimes, also, it always has photographies of girls in swimsuite that show everything of their body and the journalists write vulgar things about this girls. A lot of people like to see and read this kind of news, so the journalist publish them just to sell as much newspapers as they can. It is their bussiness to make money.
ResponderEliminarMost people prefer sensationalist news because they "put their mind or imagination to fly". People like to have an interesting theme to talk with their friends or co-workers that make them to smile, have fun or something exiting to talk about. I think they can have better and more instructive themes to talk about, but it is the Costa Rican culture.
Well, for me news in my country are sensationalist most of the time, for example in canal 7 or canal 6 before the “show” starts, they put a little piece of a sensationalist new, why? I think It’s because when people see sensationalist news, they get in shock and want to see more or want to see the rest of the story, and also because it helps the show to find more or new audience.
ResponderEliminarTalking about newspapers, they are more sensationalist than TV news because newspaper for me is more bore than TV programs and also because not all the people learn to read, so they must do something in order to catch people’s attention. The best example of a newspaper is La Extra.
I think that they have to be sensationalist because if not, people will be bored, because sometimes we need ‘’action’’ to be interested in something. Finally, I consider that the most of women are ‘’against’’ sensationalist news, because we prefer other kinds of news like fashion, and the most of men prefer sensationalist news because as I said before, they need action in their lives.
